The Urban Manufacturing Alliance (UMA) and the Association for Neighborhood and Housing Development (ANHD) are pleased to invite you to a convening of mission-driven real estate developers working to anchor industrial and manufacturing economies in their cities.
Participants will have the opportunity to build their capacity, engage in peer-learning, and learn national best practices surrounding what it takes to responsibly and equitably preserve, build, and create 21st century industrial and manufacturing spaces in their cities.
This convening comes following the release of UMA’s year-long project with the Local Initiative Support Corporation (LISC), which profiled eight mission-driven real estate developers who provided production and retail space to making and manufacturing businesses. The profiles show that mission-driven real estate developers can play a role as manufacturing advocate, place maker, workforce development supporter, and ecosystem builder for their broader community.
This convening also comes in wake of ANHD’s advocacy to protect industrial land, finance new industrial development, and support local manufacturing businesses in New York City, presenting new opportunities to mission-driven developers to be place makers, participants, and advocates in equitable economic development.
